Not only has my family been able to enjoy the Fantastic Four the movie, but now Fox has sent us our own Fantastic 4 Science Lab! Before they became super heroes the Fantastic 4 were super scientists!
As a mom of 2 boys that love science this kit was met with much excitement, we needed to get cracking and see what we could come up with on our own! Each experiment was packaged and labeled after a character!
The Thing’s Clobberin Candy: Remember the Thing got his tough skin after being bombarded by rocks and hot chemicals. That’s kind of how rock candy works! This takes about 7 days to grow full size rock candy crystals!
Mr.Fantastic’s Stretchy Slime: This was a bust for us the first 2 times. The kit makes 5 types of slime, but we only tried 2 types! Sometimes you fail and that’s what happened with the Fantastic 4, and sometimes you triumph. It’s all part of science.
The Invisible Woman’s Invisible Ink: The kids are still playing with this one! These awesome pens come with a built in UV light which excites the phosphors found in the invisible ink. The phosphors convert the energy from the UV light into glowing light that’s visible to the human eye. Perfect for secret messages!
The Human Torch’s Combustible Candles: The Human Torch has the ability to set ablaze and stay lit through internal combustion. (Just like a candle!) This was my favorite part of our kit! It was actually a candle making kit and the boys had a great time making candles and then gifting them to our guests over the holidays. I was lucky enough to be given one!
So, while the kids are on break from school we’ll be making more slime, eating some rock candy, writing secret messages and lighting some candles! I’m sure we’ll also be watching Fantastic 4 again as well! If you haven’t caught the film yet, it’s great fun to watch together as a family over break! Maybe you’ll come up with some fun experiments that you can do as well! I love planning activities with our movie nights!
Do your kids like science? What’s a fun experiment that you’d like to try?
Disclosure: As a Fox Home Entertainment Insider I get sent information and some promotional products. All thoughts are my own and I was not compensated for this post.
