Our plans changed several times, but we finally settled on a 3 day trip to Philadelphia!
Alvin & The Chipmunks hit the road!
We packed our bags, grabbed some snacks from Target and set off on an adventure through history with Alvin in tow! We had just watched Alvin & the Chipmunks: the Road Chip at home, but loaded the Digital HD copy to take on the road with us!
Of course I was a horrible parent and we forgot to take Alvin with us the first day we set out to explore the city! He soon fit in to the city of brotherly love just fine! Alvin visited several parks and historic sites. He also went to the Franklin Institute with us!
Here he is with the boys at the Franklin Institute in an actual old school fighter jet! He learned all about the science behind flying. We also visited a new exhibit about Egypt, but we weren’t able to take photos in that area. I think they all earned so much. We had Indian food for lunch then headed off to run up the “Rocky Steps” at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The statue of Rocky can be found at the bottom of the steps. There have been several questions as to whether it is truly art or just a movie prop. A compromise was made and their he stands. The boys then ran up the stairs while I filmed them. We walked up and joined them at the top. Needless to say everyone slept well that night.
Alvin Wakes up in Philly!
Alvin seemed thrilled to be waking up to an awesome view of the Ben Franklin bridge! Alas, we had to pack up and get ready for our trip home. We would take in the city a little bit more, grab a Philly Cheesesteak and make our way home.
My son got sick on the way home so it was a long ride! Thankfully he was fine by the time we arrived home. (Maybe that cheesesteak?) Taking Alvin with us was so fun! I can’t wait for the next road trip! I wonder who we will take with us next time. If you haven’t seen Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Road Trip yet grab it today! It’s a road trip at home for the entire family.

This looks like such a fun family trip! The Easter Bunny actually brought my daughter the latest Alvin & The Chipmunks movie in her basket! So, we will be watching it this week for family movie night!

My toddler loves the chipmunk movies! 🙂 I think it’s because of all the music. We will have to check out this new one!

I thought ROAD CHIP was the best of the movies so far but my wife disagrees and thinks CHIP WRECKED is better. Either way these movies always entertain my kids so the whole series of Chipmunks films gets a thumbs up from this dad.
