Yes, that’s me as Lollipop. My friend took part in a female arm wrestling event for charity and I was part of her sweet entourage. Well, I was going to skip this because I had a crazy week, but I just couldn’t do it. Next week I will be at BlogHer in NYC and I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to post my 10 Things! It’s going to be a busy week. I’m both excited and scared. Unfortunately, my husband had to go back to work in the city and it has just thrown me and the boys completely off again. I’m back to playing single mom at one of the most unfortunate times. I did it last year and I’ll do it again, but I really thought there was going to be a some relief this time around. You can never plan for anything in life can you? Things could be worse, this is just an inconvenience. Okay, here we go.
This week I learned that:
10. people might offer to help you, but when you reach out to get that help sometimes they scurry away like rats. ( I put too much faith in strangers.)
9. there is a sweet satisfaction watching someone get what they deserve. ( Yes, I’m being mean here, save it. I’m not perfect and no one got hurt.)
8. sometimes I want to be that annoying person that points out every single misspelling others make on their Facebook comments and updates. ( Could it be anymore annoying than the person that is constantly misspelling all the time?)
7. bad things happen to good people. ( It’ll never make sense.)
6. people don’t really know me the way they think I do. ( I think some people keeled over when they learned I was dressing up for the BRAWL event.)
5. my schedule from August till the end of October is going to be hell. ( I’m a homebody and now I’ll be hauling kids 5 days a week. Uhh!)
4. I’d volunteer more if the people running the volunteer programs would be a bit nicer. ( I know it’s stressful and there are never enough volunteers, but if you were kinder I think you’d get more people willing to help.)
3. there are friends I can’t complain to because they always have a story worse than mine. ( I need a pity party too sometimes, not just yes, well it could be worse…..)
2. explaining playing fair to a 6 year old can be both rewarding and frustrating. ( Especially when he just watched someone get rewarded for cheating!)
1. the kindness of a community coming together for a child in crisis is priceless. ( Makes me really appreciate the area I live in!)
Sorry for all the negative lessons this week, but I was PMS’ing hard! Not pleasant. If you like reading my 10 things please leave me a comment and let me know. I’ll be sending out a survey soon to find out what you’d like to see more or less of here at Be Your Best Mom. have a good week! If you are coming to BlogHer send me out a Tweet @barrettboys I’d love to meet you:)
