Penguins of Madagascar are back in their very own feature film November 26, 2014. Just in time for Thanksgiving!
*My family and I attended an event courtesy of DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox that included a trip to the Bronx Zoo and movie screening. All thoughts belong to my family and myself.*
It was a cold and rainy day that Saturday, but nothing can put a smile on a child’s face faster than a warm penguin hat! All kidding aside, my kids were excited to head out to the Bronx Zoo and experience the penguins. After a warm breakfast provided by the Residence Inn we had a chance to explore the final weekend of Boo at the Zoo. The Bronx Zoo always brings back precious memories from my childhood. I love having my children make their own memories at this special place. The rain on this day was relentless which made the zoo a much quieter place than usual. We suited up and went out to explore.
We had a good laugh at the rain poncho we put on our son! The kids truly enjoyed their time at the zoo. The private time we had with the penguins during their feeding was amazing. We learned about molting and many other penguin facts. The kids had a chance to throw fish at the penguins and loved it. We also had a special appearance from the Penguins themselves. After lunch and some face painting we took off again to attend the screening. The excitement was out of this world for these boys.
The Movie Review:
All I have to say is John Malkovich! Even as an animated evil Dr. Octavius Brine he is genius! My boys are going through that stage where many things are considered “too babyish” for them, but not this film. They couldn’t wait to see the Penguins. They have been fans of them for years and we laughed and laughed while watching this movie. While this movie is geared to the littles as an adult I found it to have much humor. Another plus is that there are lessons included in the fun and we all count. This is a movie that the entire family can enjoy and the holidays is a perfect time for this film. Trust me, you won’t be bored. It’s “flipping funny.” Find out how it all began, egg hatching and all in this movie. Don’t miss it. It’s the perfect break from the craziness of the holidays.
