Last week my boys and I visited Make Meaning on the Upper East Side to learn about Sarah Michelle Gellar’s new venture Foodstirs. The MOMS hosted the event with Frigidaire and I experienced some envy over the gallery of timesaving Frigidaire products.
Take a Peek and learn about Frigidaire and Foodstirs:
Sarah Michelle Gellar and partner Galit Laibow were on hand to talk to us about Foodstirs, a new monthly subscription baking kit they created along with Gia Russo. If you watched the above video you can see how passionate and excited the team is about Foodstirs.
As a mom myself I know that I connected with Sarah and Galit’s message about creating memories in the kitchen. It’s also a place where kids learn many life skills and parents have a chance to make conversation and spend time with their children in another way.
My boys love to spend time in the kitchen, especially creating yummy goodies such as the ones offered from Foodstirs.
I love cooking, but baking is not my strong point. I really started to bake when kids were little. We got messy, kept busy, and then got to have a treat. I do admit that I’m not very creative when it comes to baking.
I love the idea of getting a Foodstirs kit every month. The fully illustrated recipe cards are easy to follow and kids can do most of it themselves. A cute helping hand icon appears on the step that has kids asking an adult for help. The card also includes the tools you will need and what fresh ingredients, such as eggs, need to be purchased. There is nothing worse then trying to make something with kids and then be missing an ingredient so this is helpful!
The ingredients included come with an ingredients list and many are organic. Everything is also pre-measured for you. You also get an additional card with a creative tip, culinary tip and an interesting fact. Foodstirs kits are awesome for moms like me that aren’t regular bakers, working parents, and even a great gift idea for kids that are learning to cook. My son loves following the step by step directions himself. It helps with reading and the ability to follow the directions.

Disclosure: I attended this event hosted by The Moms as a guest. While I did receive a swagbag all thoughts belong to me and have not been influenced.

I love that all the ingredients are pre-measured! That makes it so much easier…especially if the littler kids are going to help out! I too suffer from some appliance envy just looking at your photos! lol
