I’m taking a break from meal plan Mondays because my husband and I are doing a fat flush. However in preparing for the flush I needed to get certain foods out of my house and also finish foods that would spoil. So the week built up to a leftover buffet, and I thought I would share the idea.(the idea not the diet part)
This is one of those things that are multipurpose.
1. Planning a leftover buffet can keep you from eating the rest of your kids food
2. Saves you money, by finishing what you already have at home.
3. Less garbage.
4. Fun for the kids!
Yes, I said fun. My kids love it when they can have spaghetti, mac and cheese, and 1/2 a grill cheese all at one meal. This is my fast food. I put everything I have out on the counter and let the kids pick what they want to eat. There seems to be a misconception that you have to have enough of one item to serve leftovers, but not so. I usually will put out a salad or make veggies if I don’t have any.
WARNING!!!!! Make sure that if the item is a favorite for more than 1 child that there is enough to share. I have made extra pasta, etc to fill the void.
Now- just think of all those calories you’ll save now that your not scarfing down your kids leftovers!
