This is part 2 to my lifestyle makeover. So last week we, made our beds, made a commitment and found our Ethel. This week we move on to diary duty. I’ll show you pictures of mine next week. I’m having computer issues again so no personal photos.
1.This week we want to start journaling. If you don’t have one, or even if you do, you might want to pick one up. Anything that you might like, lined, or unlined, with a lock or without- this is just for you. On the first page you want to write the commitment you made to yourself last week- remember- the one to find a life. This is going to to help us on our path to find our passion. We will do exercise in here as well as record your daily dramas, your victories(no matter how small) and your expectations. Yes, it’s all in there.
2. At least 3 days a week, 2 pages. I know I find it difficult to blog everyday let alone journal, so 3 days is I think enough. Besides your personal entries I will give you some exercises to do, honor this time for yourself. Pick a time morning, afternoon or night that is right for you. This is your chance to discover yourself. I will be doing this too!
3.Take sometime this week and develop a mantra. Try one, practice it and see if it resonates for you. It should be no longer than 10 words. It is yours. You do not ever have to share it with anyone. Once you find one add it to your journal and find a quiet space to repeat it to yourself 3 times.
4. The Truth:
- You come first! ( you know the whole story, you put your oxygen mask on first) Take care of yourself in order to better care for your children.
- Money is important: Seriously, life is less stressful when you actually have some, admit it. It’s okay to want more. (we’ll talk about this later)
- To Get More Time, Get Busy: Busy people find time in their day to get things done. (we will work on this too)
- To Get More Energy, Get Moving: So, true and a truth I need help with.
- To Be More Creative Take a Risk: When you stay in the comfort zone you lose your edge! Been there, let’s not do that! Something we will work on together.
- Moms are the pulse of the family, community and the economy: Accept your influence with gratitude and reverence.
- The Buddy System Works: We need each other. A real friend will tell you whether you are right or wrong and stick by you when you are wrong.
- You Have It All; You Just Can’t Do It All: Accepting help is being smart, not an admission of failure. ( I learned this one while on bed rest) Delegate!
- Husbands Don’t Get It- Let It Go: Just let go of the frustration, a friend said it to me well, if your marriage gets stressed about the socks on the floor you need to just step over them. There is more important things at stake than socks.
- You Can Achieve Greatness: Work at it, Identify it, believe in yourself, and expect obstacles. You can rise above.
More to come next week. I hope you stay on this journey with me and like I said this book is my guide:
