When I first began this blog my goal was to help myself and other women discover their true identities and set goals for themselves. Overscheduled and overtired I never truly accomplished my goal. So I’m making a pact that every Tuesday I will provide life makeover challenges for you in order that we all may be “our best mom” I hope that you’ll join me and share your comments, accomplishments, as well as failures.
I’ll be using The Momstown Guide to Getting It All: A Life Makeover For Stay-At-Home Momsas a reference during the course of the next few weeks. Let’s see if we can truly care for ourselves as well as our families.
Step 1: You deserve this! Make a commitment to yourself and post it somewhere that you can see it everyday! Create a mantra or sign a contract. The book gives this example:
I, _________________,promise to immerse myself in the process of getting a life. I promise to feel optimistic about the areas that I recognize need work, to make my life a priority, to search out and seize new opportunities, and to remember that when I work on improving my life, I improve the lives of the people I love.
Step 2: Try making your bed everyday this week! Sure it sound simple, but it gives your day a fresh start. Make it the first thing you do every morning. It’s not just a bed. It’s where you rest. Starting your day organized and with a sense of accomplishment goes a long way!
Step 3: Finding your buddy, your Ethel to your Lucy. This person is going to be your support in the smallest and largest ways. Pick up the phone and find one! A buddy should be someone you can call at 3 A.M. and can be open and honest with you. Finding a buddy that matches your speed and enthusiasm is important. Avoid a buddy that always seem to have a drama going on!
Let’s start there! Look out for 3 more steps next week and let me know how you are doing! It’s a new school year and I’m ready for a new me! Well, okay a revamped me!

I have the book, and it is a great one! Although I do have a hard time with "using it as a guide" I think just sitting down and reading it helps me reflect on myself and who I would like to be as a sahm
