So, it started as a miserable week. Really! I’m still in this funk can’t quite get out of it, but the husband and friends have pulled through I’m feeling okay now. By okay, I mean I know I’ll feel better, but I’m just not sure when. The worst part of the week: when school called me about my oldest son having anxiety in class. The funniest: when a mom told me she loved my blog, but thought I was talking about her-NOT (only good stuff for you K), and the best: the love and support that I found around me. So here it goes and pardon me if it’s not as nice, it’s been a rough week.
This week I Learned that:
10. you never know when you are going to be blindsided. ( hence the word blind, this is in reference to the phone call from the school.)
9. I have been having more and more moments of wanting to tell people exactly what I think. ( this can be a good or bad thing. I need to learn the fine art of tact)
8. some of my poor innocent friends think I’ve been blogging about them! ( honestly, my targets are usually people I don’t know. Wouldn’t want my tires slashed ya know!)
7. this is usually the part where I want to say something not so nice, but stop myself. ( Come on, it’s not just me. Someone must have said something really stupid to you this week, too!)
6. what I consider to be common sense is equivalent to the discovery of America to some. ( Seriously, how could you just not know that! I’m stopping myself from giving any further information. I would hate to get another phone call! Oh, yes I have.)
5. some moms find that pajamas are appropriate attire for field trips to farms. ( Yes, I said pajamas)
4. as organized that I think I am, I’m really a mess. ( still working on this one)
3. the Salvation Army will actually turn you away if you are donating too much stuff. ( It was books people, they told me I had to many and they wouldn’t take anymore.)
2. the reason some parents come on field trips is beyond me. ( I volunteered to chaperone ( my first time) and I actually had a parent tell me to watch their kid, that it was my job- Why are you here then? ( before you get any crazy ideas, not you the other K)
1. I basically had someone tell me that if they had a college degree they wouldn’t be a SAHM. ( Ouch! This one hurts to type. I’m a firm believer in being able to do whatever it is you want to do with your life. I have an Associates and a Bachelors Degree. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and at the time of my marriage brought in more income then my husband. I made a choice, as several of us do. I don’t judge the mom that goes to work because that is her choice. That was not mine, but for someone to tell me that I must have a mental condition to want to stay at home and not pull in the bucks is uncalled for in this day and age. Oh, yes, it went in that direction.)

It is crazy to stay at home with the kids. We need to respect the one who is willing venture into this (as adults) unknown land of child raising. That’s just my 2 cents, take it or leave it.
