I just made this and it really is a quick and easy swap. Your cost is $0.81 per 20 ounce container. How did it work? Great on my plates and utensils, not so great on glasses. My disclaimer is that my dishwasher has always been crappy on my glasses. I almost always have to rewash my glasses. The coffee mugs- not so much. So, forgive my cheap dishwasher and let me know how this works for you.
Here is what you need:
1 cup of borax
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup kosher salt
Pour borax, baking soda, and salt into a plastic container, secure lid and shake it! Fill up your powder dispenser and go!
If you have a different recipe I’d love to try it! Please leave it in a comment!

I am interested to see if anyone else has any comments on this, I have all the ingredients, but my hubs is super picky about the dishwasher 😉

Hmmm. If he’s super picky this might not be for you. If you have the ingredients it’s worth trying, but like I said my glasses needed a rewash. I almost always have to do that though. If you do try it let me know.

I believe this recipe means to use washing soda. It is different than baking soda. One can turn baking into washing soda by baking long enough that the oxygen evaporates.

I made it with Baking Soda, but after researching it, it can be made with either!
