This is why I didn’t try to build a gingerbread house this year. This was last years fixer upper. Actually, the last holiday was a good one. This year, not so much. Not that it was bad, but a little uneventful. So, I’m putting it on a shelf and storing it away and beginning the new year with much hope. Here’s why:
I was right about starting Project Me before the holidays. It helped me focus on what’s important to me. I’ve created a list of goals instead of resolutions. This week I’m taking some time to map them out on my calendar. Every month I’ll have a set of goals to work towards. It seems less overwhelming that one huge commitment. I’ll keep you posted as I go along.
For now, I’ve somehow managed to make it through the holiday season and lose 3 pounds. Really! Even with all the breaks in exercise and the crap food choices, I was able to do it. The husband bought me Zumba 2 for the Wii and I tried it today for the first time. I sweat my ass off. I love it! I have to say it’s the first Wii workout that I did that truly got me going. This will be my cardio addition to Project Me. Love it!
Another new addition to the project is special reading time with my boys. I’m scheduling a time everyday that I sit down with the boys, read them a story and then ask them questions about what I just read. My oldest son wants to move up a reading level at school and has issues with comprehension. I’m using different techniques that his teachers have suggested. My little one is a new reader, so this is great for him as well. We had a nice time together last night. After all they are part of “me”, so they are involved in this project as well.
I’ll keep you updated as I move forward. Have you started your own “Project Me”? I’d love to hear about it.

Good that you are taking time out for yourself. There are quite a few things which I’m doing for myself- learning how to use the camera properly, lose weight.. and start and maintain a beauty regime.
