Oh yes, the blog dare continues with the latest prompt, “Your Most Annoying Myth or Wives Tale….”. I have a few, but I think my all time favorite is ” You’re not dressed warm enough you’ll catch a cold!” This also falls into the category of going outside without a hat or with a wet head. Sure, you’ll be cold, but catch a cold, come on. A “cold” is nothing more than a virus. Yes, there are several types of “cold” viruses and several ways that they can transmit. The air is one of them, but not because of low temperatures. This drives me nuts! Maybe not as nuts as people that are constantly using hand sanitizer, another pet peeve of mine.
There is a great book called Ah-Choo, the Uncommon Life of Your Common Cold and it dispels myths associated with colds. So, I’m not saying to send your kids out with no hats or gloves, but if they are going to catch a cold they’ll catch it. After all of these years there still is no proven cure or preventative for it. Bundle up and be safe, but if that virus wants to get a hold of you it will-no matter what you might try.

I agree!! It doesn’t matter how warmly dressed they are, they can still catch a virus!
