Don’t worry it’s not my kids that suck! See how they are surrounded by Valentine’s? I was sick on Valentine’s day and that sucked! I know some people like to play it off as if it’s not a big deal, but I love it. Even when I was single I loved the romance behind it. As a child I loved eating cupcakes and getting cards from friends, I love seeing my kids having fun with it. Since I’ve been sick for days now it’s been a tough a week and I’ve been cranky. So instead of me sitting here spewing all this great knowledge I’m going to tell you why this week sucked for me. Step back and let this bitch go!
It sucks when:
10. you get sick on Valentines Day and your husband has just gone way out of his way for you. ( Sorry, babe I’ve been coughing up a lung all day.)
9. you have to cancel going in to school for your son’s Valentine’s party. ( I wanted to see him get his cards and his big red mustache from the Hawaiian Punch!)
8. you cancel your other son’s piano lesson because you are sick and find out the teacher’s cancelling next week. ( Don’t even get me started.)
7. your husband feels the need to ask you if you’ve been wearing pajamas all day. ( Yes, I’ve been wearing my PJs all day. I’m sick. Where am I going?)
6. you can’t breathe or talk and everyone around you is having a crisis and calls you to complain and you just can’t say anything. ( This is when I go to that dark place in my mind.)
5. your blogging sucks because your head is full and then your numbers suck and then you feel like you suck. ( If your not a blogger this means nothing to you.)
4. you haven’t left the house in almost a week and your forced to sit through peoples constant “check ins” online. ( Seriously, next I time I see you folks I’m stealing your phones!)
3. you still have to do laundry, make lunches, snacks, dinner and help with homework and bathes when you are sick. ( No shocker here.)
2. your husband goes over budget buying you a Valentine present. ( Ah, I love him, but I wish he’d know that he’s more than enough for me. Way more!)
1. you have to stop all the traffic on a major roadway to talk to your bus driver because of a bully on the bus. ( Yes, I had to have my kids seats changed.)
Okay, I have to be honest with you. It honestly hasn’t been a bad week. I’ll tell you why. It’s because I’ve been taking care of myself. Sure, I still had to do all the house stuff, but I’ve been taking the easy way out. Pasta and sauce doesn’t take long, and neither does a bag of steam fresh veggies. I rested and did only what absolutely needed to be done. Take care of yourself ladies. Not a soul will tell you to stop and relax, only you can give yourself the care you need. I’ve done that this week and it’s made such a difference. I’m looking forward to recouping this weekend with my fantastic family!

All moms have it hard when we are sick sounds like you handled it with grace…

Yup. The only one who can dial it down a notch is you.
Sorry you have been sick. I am hoping you are on the uphill mend!

OK, hope you are feeling better but I know you can handle it, after all you are my sister. What concerns me is this bully problem. I know “people” do I need to get involved????!! Say the word and I will take care of the problem. Nobody messes with my nephews!!! They are precious.

I have been sick too this week and right now as I am typing this comment I basically breath through my mouth because I am having bad cold. Valentine’s day was the worst because son no.1 got viral infection and our car was hit from the back. Hangin there though, I hope all of us will get better week from next Monday onwards ๐
