This blog post has gone so many different ways since the week began and how it’s ended. I can only compare my week to a roller coaster, lots of ups and downs quickly occurring. Moments of nausea and shrieks of sheer joy combined to make it a hell of a ride. As, I’m getting off the ride I wonder whether or not I’d like to do it again. Sound familiar? I posted a few days ago about taking control and being honest. That has been challenged several times over this week, but I am feeling rather proud about how I’ve handled it all. I’ve also realized that while I can’t control the ride I can control how I react to it. I originally titled this post “10 Things I Wish I Hadn’t Learned This Week.” I changed it because I learned one more thing and that is every lesson learned has value and importance. Even the ones we might not like to know.
This week I learned that:
10. my boys can fill and cork wine bottles! ( We make homemade wine and my husband put them to work.)
9. I have friends that don’t think I’m crazy when I call them to save my goldfish. ( I left them in the plastic bag just floating in the tank and I realized it after I was already an hour away from home!)
8. spending serious one on one time with each of my kids is important. ( I kept my oldest home for a day and we spent the day out together. Little did I know he would get sick the next day and be stuck at home with me for many more days-oops!)
7. people can apologize to you and still be mean to you at the same time. ( That would be NOT being sorry.)
6. I honestly don’t want anyone to do me any favors if they come with strings attached. ( You know, the famous, “I did this for you and you owe.)
5. there really is such a thing as turtle farms. (WTF- Who knew?)
4. the reason my balance in my checking account is so high is that my husband hasn’t been paying the bills. ( Thanks babe, I love getting phone calls from creditors asking when we plan on paying our bills.)
3. even though I’ve been doing this for awhile people don’t get/respect the blogging. ( It’s a lot of work and yes I like it, but it’s still work.)
2. just because someone wants you to be part of something big it doesn’t mean they have your best intentions in mind. ( be cautious of quick money or fame it might not be all you thought.)
1. My son has swollen glands and a respiratory infection. ( Sickness only occurs during the school week and when my husband spends the night out of town.)
I’m so ready for Saturday! I have some new giveaways starting next week and a boatload of awesome reviews. See ya!
