I’ll bet you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to over here. February was a tough month for me, but in another way it really was a learning experience. I was sick two weeks this month and it’s a short month to begin with anyway. The boys had their Valentines activities at school among other things. It was a busy month. My husband even had to work a few weekends which leaves me in charge of everything here on the homefront. I know what you’re thinking, “When did you have time for yourself?” Well, it was tough, but I did it.
I had the luxury of having both boys at school, at least during the week. So, this mom slept alot! In the beginning I just kept going as usual. I even brought the kids to the city because I thought I was better. Maybe not the best choice, but I started out okay. I cancelled my son’s piano lessons, I cancelled volunteering, and I slept. The house and everything went to hell, but I needed to care for myself. Looking back I was sick even before that, but us moms have a tendency to put everyone first except ourselves. I finally went to the doctor after I started to vomit and couldn’t breathe. I had bronchitis and bronchial asthma. Although I have my energy back, I’m still using the inhaler. Needless, to say I wasn’t able to accomplish many of my monthly goals. The good part is that I learned to take care of myself. I’ll know better next time.
Here is what I accomplished for my goals this month:
-Once a month field trip: NYC, the boys got to see Freckleface The Musical
– Earning more income from my blog
– Bought a new dress
– Once a month night with the ladies – had a vodka party at my house!
– One new meal week ( even disaster ones !)
Here is just some of the stuff that didn’t happen:
– Date night. ( I was like sick all the time.)
– exercise everyday. (sick, sick, sick)
– Lose 3 lbs. ( I did lose 2!)
– There was no theme night this month.
– I didn’t finish a scrapbook, but I started one.
– And there is a whole shit load I didn’t get to do, but that’s okay.
Today is March 1st and I have a new month of goals to conquer! I’ll keep you posted! Checkout other “Project Me” posts HERE.
