I’ll admit it. The kids being home is throwing me for a loop. In my head I thought I had it all set and it’s been crazy. They are actually wonderful, but new challenges always arise. It’s parenting and nothing is easy. I need to come up with a better schedule for work and play. ( Don’t we all!) Still working it out, but here you go:
This week I learned that:
10. I’m too old to read Cosmopolitan Magazine anymore. ( I just can’t relate to most of the articles.)
9. I miss talking to my Ethel everyday. ( I love ya like a sister – hang in there!)
8. no matter how well I might think I know my kids they always surprise me. ( I still can’t get over what a successful week they both had at VBS this past week. Awesome!)
7. I need to just accept the fact that my son ( Owen) will always be the last one out the door, will forget something, spill something and break something at least once a day. (Oh and get dirty too! I need to just stop yelling at him for it. this is just who he is and I love him for it.)
6. the worst part of Summer so far is that I can’t watch inappropriate movies with my kids home. ( I’m a big horror fan and like a good movie when I work-all this PG stuff is killing me! Bring on the serial killers!)
5. my husband has an odd fascination with boats. ( We don’t own a boat and he doesn’t even know how to sail. Somehow, it all goes back to a boat.)
4. I’ve gotten picky at restaurants. ( I have had the most horrible service and food lately. I can see why people find places they like and stick to them. If I order a veggie burger for my son I expect a veggie burger not a Portobello Mushroom. Just sayin)
3. this whole Mercury in retrograde thing is kicking my ass. ( Blog Post to follow!)
2. people see me so differently than I see myself. (I guess this is true about everyone.)
1. I’m allowed to take a break and take care of myself. ( Sorry. I haven’t returned your emails, phone calls or that I’m asking you for last-minute favors, but I needed to breathe. Thanks for understanding.)

I didn’t know you were a fellow horror movie buff! I’d get in trouble for putting Fangoria Magazines in my school books at school! We definitely have to catch a horror movie together (I just hope you are not a screamer!)
I think all men have a fascination with boats and sailing, I haven’t figured out what it is yet either, maybe it’s all that unchartered territory and promise of adventure, or maybe just the idea of meeting a mermaid along the way! LOL
What did Mercury do to you? It’s seriously a strong retrograde and I could feel it’s effects this time well before it even began!
