Well, this was treat! On this busy week before Christmas I was actually able to enjoy a delicious tasting sauce over penne pasta for a quick meal. Now, this was not just any sauce, but the new Wolfgang Puck Arrabiata sauce. I’m a fan of the Wolfgang Puck family of products and when I heard about this new sauce I tried to find it at few stores, but I was a bit too early and nobody had it yet. Then I got this opportunity to try this product and I was thrilled. For those of you that don’t know, Arrabbiata sauce is spicy!
Wolfgang Puck’s Arrabbiata sauce is 100% natural and gluten free. It contains no sugar which is something I look for when buying a jarred sauce. You’d be surprised at how difficult it is to find a sauce with no added sugar! That makes this sauce a top choice for me at only 90 calories per 1/2 cup serving!
Ingredients:
Tomato puree, diced tomatoes in tomato juice, extra virgin olive oil, fresh onions, roasted red peppers, garlic, spice, citric acid, natural flavoring.
That’s a list I can actually read! Now, look out here comes my review.
You must be thinking, “If it’s spicy will my kids eat it?” Here is my answer, “Yes!” I just wet the pasta lightly with the sauce. My oldest, (almost 8) asked for full blown sauce. He is a spicy kid. When I asked him what he thought of the pasta he said, ” This is the best past you’ve ever made!” Not really what I wanted to hear, but I’m sure Wolfgang Puck will love it! Honestly, I have to agree with my boys. This was a great tasting, rich Arrabiata Sauce. When my husband came home from work he heated himself up a plate and it was gone before I knew it. He loved the sauce. I’ll be adding this to my must buy list!
